Develop your Immunity for the Prevention of COVID - 19

#COVID-19

Corona virus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered corona virus.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.  Older people and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is be well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using an alcohol based rub frequently and not touching your face.

The COVID-19 virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes, so it’s important that you also practice respiratory etiquette (for example, by coughing into a flexed elbow).

At this time, there are no specific vaccines or treatments for COVID-19. However, there are many ongoing clinical trials evaluating potential treatments. WHO will continue to provide updated information as soon as clinical findings become available?

However, as mentioned the above, this Covid, can cause serious illness in people who with medical problems such as heart disease, diabetes, chronic lung disease and cancer. Do not be afraid of this, if we have plenty of nutrients in the food what we eat, all of the above diseases will be overcome. The food we eat is a crucial factor in determining our overall health and immunity.

In particular, the food we eat must be eaten in a certain way. Eat a low carb diet, which can help control your blood sugar and stress, as well as help control diabetes and focusing on a high protein diet. Vegetables and fruits that are high in beta carotene, ascorbic acid and other important vitamins such as vitamin D3 & vitamin C should be taken regularly.

Some foods like mushrooms, tomatoes, bellpeppers and some green vegetables like broccoli and spinach should be taken in regular daily diet. This greatly helps to increase the body’s resilience from infections.

There is no doubt that there are several herbs in our kitchen that help boost immunity. Generally, we are using the ginger, turmeric, garlic, curry leaves, basil leaves and cumin every day in our Indian dishes, all of which help boost immunity. Flax, pumpkin, watermelon and sunflower seeds provide excellent protein and plenty of vitamins E. Yogurt also an important ingredient in our diet because it serves as an excellent resource for revitalising the composition of bacteria and is important for body nutrition.

In addition to the above nutrients, vitamins are also a part of your immune system. Part of this is to make sure you have vitamin C and D in your daily diet.
